SeaTac Booking Records Overview
Where to Find SeaTac 72 Hour Booking Records
SeaTac police book at 4800 S. 188th Street and then move people to a King County jail facility. Most adults end up at the King County Correctional Facility in downtown Seattle. Some are taken to SCORE, the South Correctional Entity, in Des Moines. Both jails feed public lookup tools. King County uses JILS at dajd-jms.powerappsportals.us. You can also reach JILS through the King County Sheriff page. SCORE has its own roster on the SCORE jail site.
JILS shows the booking date, time, charges, and bail amount. It updates many times a day. The lookup is free and needs no login. You search by last name and first name.
For a copy of the full police report on a SeaTac arrest, file a public records request with SeaTac Police at (206) 973-4900. The agency must give a first response within five business days.
The King County Sheriff runs the JILS subject lookup that lists all in-custody adults. See the live tool on the King County JILS page.
JILS is the main way to track a SeaTac arrest in King County in real time.
How a SeaTac Booking Works
A SeaTac arrest starts with a stop or a call. If the officer takes the person into custody, the first stop is the police station for the start of booking. The officer logs the name, date of birth, and the listed charges. The person is then driven to a King County jail. The jail does the full booking with a booking number, prints, and a photo. The person shows up in the public roster soon after.
State law requires a first court hearing within 72 hours of the arrest, not counting weekends and holidays. That hearing sets bail or releases the person on personal recognizance. Until that hearing, the person stays on the live in-custody list. JILS keeps that list current many times a day. SCORE runs its own list for people held there.
Note: People booked late on a Friday may not see a judge until the next court day, so the live roster is the best way to track them in the meantime.
What a SeaTac Booking Record Shows
The 72 hour booking record is a short summary. The full police report is a longer file that may take longer to get. Most of the booking record is open under state law.
Common fields:
- Full legal name and aliases
- Date of birth
- Booking date and time
- Arresting agency
- Listed charges
- Bail amount and court date
A booking does not mean the person was charged in court. Many cases never make it to a formal charge. The record is a snapshot of one day in the system.
SeaTac Public Records Requests
Police records are public under RCW 42.56, the Washington Public Records Act. You can ask for a SeaTac police report by calling (206) 973-4900 or by sending a written request to the records unit at 4800 S. 188th Street, SeaTac, WA 98188. The agency must give a first response within five business days. Most reports come back in two to four weeks. Active investigation files may be held back.
Jail booking data is also covered by RCW 70.48.100. This statute lists the basic booking facts the public can see. The Criminal Records Privacy Act in RCW 10.97 limits how some criminal history can be shared. The MRSC public records guide walks through how cities should handle these requests.
SeaTac Court and Case Lookup
City code cases from SeaTac may go to a contract municipal court. State law cases go to King County District Court or King County Superior Court in Seattle or Kent. You can search statewide case data through the Washington Courts public site or the Odyssey Portal. The Find My Court Date tool at dw.courts.wa.gov is the simplest way to look up an upcoming hearing by name.
For a person who is now under state supervision, the Department of Corrections has a search at doc.wa.gov/information/inmate-search. The DOC also has a warrant search for people who skipped supervision.
More SeaTac Booking Resources
The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs runs the Jail Booking and Reporting System known as JBRS. JBRS pulls in booking data from many local jails. Read about it at waspc.org. The Washington State Patrol runs the WATCH criminal history check at wsp.wa.gov/crime/criminal-history. For federal court cases, use PACER.
Fees and copy costs vary by agency. Most public roster tools are free. Police report copies are charged by the page under RCW 42.56. Certified copies cost more than plain ones.
Note: SeaTac sits right next to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, so federal cases tied to the airport may show up only on PACER and not on local rosters.
